Hello, I’m Tanya Provis, Founding Director of Sparklett Business Concierge I have extensive experience both in Australia and Internationally across all areas of business administration and want to tell you a little about myself and what my business Sparklett Business Concierge can offer you.

2006 – 2010 My business management skills were honed and tested when I toured the prestigious International Stage Production – The Merchants of Bollywood as Business Consultant and Company Manager for one of my client’s – The Merchants of Bollywood Pty Ltd. This production and ensemble of thirty five Bollywood dancers / actors plus crew achieved sold-out houses in over twenty countries across Europe, Asia and the USA.

I already had a very solid base of experience across business and financial administration before ‘The Merchants of Bollywood’ tour but as you can imagine, an experience like this one challenged every fibre of my being and skill base and forged a whole new network of contacts and opportunities. The tour developed my problem solving skills to a consummate point. There is nothing much that fazes me these days and I believe most problems can be solved under the right circumstances with the right support team in place.

Any one day on the world tour could see me responsible for everything from payroll to dealing with immigration officials in countries like Serbia and China amongst others. Serious situations were quite often intercepted by crisis management emergencies that could range from having to track down production elements such as costumes, sets and props that quite simply didn’t arrive when and where they were meant to, across lost passports, lost cast members, cultural and religious difficulties to visa nightmares and more.

 

Before launching Sparklett Business Concierge, in 2000 I was General Manager of InStep Creations Pty Ltd for four years, an advertising & graphic design company, offering me the opportunity to hone my online and IT skills. During this period I created and set-up ‘Response Point’, a related entity to InStep Creations.

Setting up ‘Response Point’ was a terrific experience for me and I discovered I really enjoyed the process. It was during this period that my idea of creating a business concierge service for small to medium business started to develop.

As many of us remember it was the year 2000 that GST was introduced. This opened the way for a totally new business administration criteria. All of a sudden bookkeeping became essential in keeping infront and abreast financially. Those who didn’t adapt went under. It was a huge learning curve for business in general and I remember thinking how important it was not only to adjust myself but to think of ways to inform and handle this new way for others who may not have the time or know how to manage themselves. My idea for the Business Concierge had taken another step.

From 1990 to 1996 I worked for Airnorth Regional Airlines first as Flight Operations Assistant before being appointed as Personal Assistant to the CEO and Director.

In 2000 I graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Science Honours and completed my Certificate in direct Marketing through ADMA. I am currently undertaking and close to completing certificate IV Financial Services in Book Keeping in line with government requirements to manage client affairs in this area. This legislation will be mandatory from April 2012.

Sparklett Business Concierge is a business that was born out of my observation about the needs of small and medium business that don’t have the level of in-house resource, but still have the same business, financial, marketing and administration requirements as big business.

I saw a niche with this idea to provide affordable services and credible consultancy expertise to small and medium business and the response I have received from Sparklett Business Concierge clients is very encouraging and proves I am on to something!
